The Amazing Race: Family Edition - Day 1

"Arrivals"

Ever since I found out my sisters would be coming to visit me in Europe I had been planning our reunion. It would start with me running up to them at baggage claim with presents and Cokes in hand. We would do the bises and I would welcome them to London.

And then I didn't wake up to my alarm.

There was no Coke, no bises, and no welcome to London. Luckily, I had wrapped the presents before going to bed.

Before you judge me for being such an awful sister, you should know that my plane was delayed by about three hours and instead of getting to London at 22:00 I got in around 1:30. My sisters arrived three and a half hours later at 5:00.

The rest of the day was spent finding our hostel, canceling our reservation, wandering with backpacks in tow to four other hostels before finally checking in to a less-sketchy but still sketchy hostel, hanging out with Peter Pan for four hours, and falling asleep at the only restaurant that sells waffles past 9:30 PM.

I guess that's what happens when you plan a full day of sightseeing for three girls on no sleep.
